For advanced riders. Grade B. Ready for a different riding adventure? Come join us on a fast paced, no cue sheet ride. We will being going to Bella Bru in El Dorado Hills. The route we take will be determined at ride start. We may go up Iron Point, or we may go Blue Ravine to Green Valley. If the group feels like it we may include Francisco Dr and Lake Hills Dr. and maybe even Serrano Parkway and Silva Valley. This ride will be in the 45-55 mile range with 1,600 to 2,200 ft climbing.. The ride will not be swept, however we do re-group as necessary. If one rider stops we all stop. Riders should expect an average pace of 15-17 mph over the course of the ride. Typically the pace on the flats will be anywhere from 19 to 22 mph. While all riders are welcome, if you don't feel you able keep up with the pace and distance, this is probably not the right ride for you. It is, however a great opportunity to improve your climbing and pace.

We will meet at Westlake Market for the ride start which has bathrooms available. The break at Winers will be at Steady Eddies coffee shop across the street from the city park.

To do Park Dr or not to do Park Dr? That is the question. We'll circle out toward Rocklin and you can make up your mind along the way. Our traditional pre-picnic ride will be led by Ray Billings. The ride start, and sign-in and out, is from William Pond at 9:00am. Parking is $5.00 at the lot but feel free to park at Five Points and ride in. Ray is offering routes from 10-38 miles so there is an option for everyone. Display your club pride by wearing a Bike Hiker jersey if you have one.

The jersey swap begins at 10:30am and is a great opportunity to acquire some cool cycling wear and let go of what you no longer need. Carole Magnusson and Ruth Anderson will be collecting jerseys and jackets only. You can either do a free jersey-for-jersey swap, or pay $5 for a jersey. Contact Ruth at ruthmft@comcast.net.

The picnic begins at 11:00am. The menu includes vegetarian and gluten free options this year along with the usual delicious picnic fare. Accommodations have been made to insure Covid safety, but masks are not required at this outdoor event. Seating is limited so consider bringing chairs or blankets. We have enough volunteers (thank you!) but if you have something to share contact Phyllis Billings at 916-338-7112 or 916-662-1213. AND, make sure to bring your significant other even if they are not a member.

We have waited a long time to gather, joke and laugh, and share a meal with the entire club. It won’t be the same without you - please join us!
