Danube Tour - Day 14 Wachau: Krems - Melk (D 23 mi.) SS
About this event
The Wachau Valley is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most beautiful sections of the Danube River. Our path leads along the Danube bank through small, dreamy villages, past impressive ruins, castles, monasteries and traditional taverns. Old vineyards and orchards characterize the gently rolling landscape.
We will have time to stroll through the romantic town on Durnstein and have the option to taste local wines at a wine cooperative that showcases the best of the region.
In Emmersdorf we will cross the Danube over a spectacular bridge and ride uphill to Melk for a visit to the Baroque Melk Abbey, another UNESCO site.
