This Follow The Leader (FTL) is a weekly hill training ride that takes us from Rocklin via the rolling hills to Auburn for coffee and treats. The route and coffee stop is determined by the participants at the ride start. Routes generally include Lincoln, Loomis, Newcastle and all roads in between. The destination may include climbs on Ophir, Indian Hill, Baxter, Ridge Road, Mt Vernon, etc.<br />This is a no sweep, no que-sheet ride, however, route is determined at ride start and re-grouping occurs as needed to keep the group together, no one is left behind. <br />A typical ride may be 35 - 40 miles with 1,800 - 2,600 feet climbing, where the ability of the riders will be considered at ride start.<br /> Note: some less busy country roads may be without a bike lane.<br />Here are some examples of previous routes taken, but not guaranteed to be the exact route next time ridden:<br />Auburn via Taylor Rd and Ophir Rd<br />https://ridewithgps.com/routes/41414917 34 miles 1900 ft<br />Auburn via Indian Hill and other climbs, return via Shirland Tract<br />https://ridewithgps.com/routes/41414856 36 miles 2400 ft
