SBH Ride Updates

Thursday 4/23 Folsom Roundabout

I had some concerns about the recent storms and the water level in the creeks for the ride tomorrow, so today was Recon Day. Here are the results by underpass.

Underpass One - 50 feet into the ride start: dry

Underpass Two - Sibley St: little water but easy

Underpass Three - Blue Ravine: more water but easy to get through

Underpass Four - Riley St: entire underpass had 2-3 inches of water. Went slow and all is well.

Underpass Five - East Bidwell: 2-foot deep fast running river - NOPE

If East Bidwell is a problem tomorrow, just before the underpass branch left onto East Bidwell heading West to the next light (against traffic, but super short) and turn right onto Creekside Drive. Good bike lane and road surface, with excellent hospital viewing options. The next light is Oak Parkway - turn right and then rejoin the bike trail at the pedestrian crossing. It's about a one mile detour --- spicy.

Your two-wheeled jewelry is going to need a serious bath after this ride so bring your mud bike if you have one. We need to take it very easy on wet wood bridges and some gravel and sand has washed into the bike lane. Happily no tree problems at all.

Start time in the Folsom Dos Coyotes parking lot is promptly at 10AM. It's going to be a beautiful day to ride. See you there.

Ken,

Kudos for taking the time to check things out and letting folks know what the situation is.  Hope all is cleared up by tomorrow now that we can stop building the Ark and get out and ride.

Kathy
