The 12/13 Barrio ride to Swabbies has been changed to Tree House because on Dec. 2 Swabbies will close; it'll reopen in Feb.

Recently I received a call from a non-member informing me that he planned to join one of my rides. He called rather than register because he was told by unspecified club members to not attempt to register since he would be asked questions he couldn't answer. To my knowledge this is not correct. A non-member is asked for name and contact info only.
There are several reasons I ask all intended ride participants to register. While a phone call is better than nothing, registration is the rule. So, please, fellow Hikers--do not instruct non-members to avoid registration. My cell number was never intended to be visible to non-members in the first place, but I've discovered that it is anyway despite my choosing otherwise. Therefore, going forward only my E-mail address will appear in the ride descriptions to both members and non-members, and although anyone is welcome to contact me via that route, such contact will not replace registration.
