Description: Join us for a ride along the south Sacramento River starting near the quaint delta town of Freeport. Our team will lead you on the Sacramento River Parkway (canals, overpasses & tunnel) through the Greenhaven/Pocket & Little Pocket communities before stopping briefly at the Street Lamp Museum--at the foot of the Tower Bridge. We travel into Old Sacramento where we will take a mid-trip break at Steamers (101 K Street) before returning back via the Sacramento River Bike Trail. Ride is intended for newcomers and those who prefer to ride at a leisurely pace: speed ranging from 10 to 14 mph--average speed of 12 mph. Guides and route sheets will be provided.
Location: Bill Conlin Sports Complex: 7895 Freeport Blvd., Sacramento 95832. Take I-5 South past downtown Sacramento; Exit Cosumnes River Blvd., Exit 510. Turn right onto Cosumnes River Blvd.; Turn right onto Freeport Blvd; sports complex on your right. Meet-up at the picnic tables near restrooms.
